Zeus’ ‘Texas Tornado’ Video Surges Past 100k Views Ahead of Veteran’s Day Headlining Performance

A look at the artist behind the viral hit 'Texas Tornado' and his upcoming performance at the SA Veterans Day at Hemisfair

San Antonio, TX - Saturday Nov. 11, 2022

If you haven’t heard of Zeus (El Mero Necio), you’re missing out on one of the most innovative and exciting musical talents in Texas. Zeus is the creator of “Tejano Hip Hop”, a genre-bending fusion of rap, EDM, and Tejano music that celebrates his diverse cultural heritage and pays tribute to the legends of the past.

Zeus recently made a splash with his dual-song featured film/music video “Texas Tornado”, which premiered on YouTube in September 2023. The video is a modern-day remake of two Texas Tornado classics “Hey Baby Que Paso?” and “Who Were You Thinkin’ Of,” featuring Zeus’ rap skills, catchy beats, and a cameo by the Texas Tornado legend Augie Meyers himself. The video has already amassed over 100,000 views and received rave reviews from fans and critics alike.

Zeus was born in Spain, raised in Brownsville, and now resides in San Antonio, where he is making waves in the local music scene. A U.S. military veteran, he once donned the uniform, serving as a military intelligence analyst at the NSA. However, his story transcends the boundaries of convention, as he deftly juggles Department of Defense consulting with a fervent pursuit of his passions in the realms of music and film. His narrative, a tapestry woven from diverse threads, stands as a testament to the exceptional, a departure from the conventional path of a typical rapper.

His recent collaborations with the nationally recognized brand, Black Rifle Coffee, and his participation in the SA Veterans Day at Hemisfair show his dedication to supporting his fellow veterans and his community.

Zeus is not only a talented musician but also a visionary who is redefining music genres and breaking boundaries. His music is a passionate homage to his roots, but also a fresh and original expression of his creative soul. He is bridging the gap between an iconic past and the emerging sounds of tomorrow, and he invites everyone to join him on his musical journey.
