Tortas, Tequila, and Bass

As a glass of Clase Azul reposado vibrates across a studio desk in Helotes, Texas, Carlton Zeus (aka Carlos Servando Cavazos) replies to a text with a picture of a torta covered in melted cheese. While the full context was never explained, Zeus confirmed the song playing as he bolted for his phone was produced by multi-platinum producer Happy Perez whose production credits include Miguel, Halsey, Khalid, Lana Del Rey, and Travis Scott.

Carlton Zeus' catchy seductive sound blurs between the line of genres: 90's tejano, EDM, cumbia, hip hop, and trap. His recipe is simple, "Create a vibe that will outlast an era. If you got good friends, they'll still love you if you f*ck it up. You probably will." Zeus says.

His work with Happy Perez goes back to 2015 running back & forth to Houston from San Antonio at 5am just in time to get home, shower, and change hats. With only 24 hours in a day, he juggled music, a rigorous nightlife, family, consulting for the Department of Defense and other small businesses - all on a couple hours of sleep. It was during this time, he broke out of San Antonio and hit the road growing his fan base playing beach parties and festivals along side acts such as Big Sean, Tory Lanez, Deftones, Lil Dicky, Logic, Dustin Lynch, Alessia Cara, The Offspring, Maroon 5, Schoolboy Q, and more.

His live shows are an all inclusive trip into his world - an intense Tex Mex musical any out of towner can latch on to. This held true as crowds he played for grew from 50 people to 150,000 counting down the new year in the heart of downtown San Antonio. "I'm a South Texas Mexican American sorta Benjamin Buttoning myself back to whence I came with more bass. As a kid, a lot of times I felt too Mexican or not Mexican enough. Now, I celebrate that with thousands of people at a time. White, Black, Asian, Latino, Native American, Martian, whatever - I think we all can relate."

On that path to reconnect, he also took on a festival tour hitting military bases across the United States, a tribute to his past service in the U.S. Air Force. As an airman in the field of Military Intelligence, he worked closely with all branches of military - many still stationed across the world. In 2020, Zeus plans to pay his extended family a visit with a new album in tow, teaming up with actor/singer Vincent "Rocco" Vargas (Mayans MC)  and other celebrity veterans.
